1.We came up with our driving question
How can we bring birds to our garden in the winter and sustain their presence through all seasons? 2. Together we did some prior knowledge sharing and gathering information on birds. 3. As a class, we decided how we wanted to attract birds to our garden. We then determined a comparative question to test/investigate. Which seed to most birds prefer, thistle or blackoil sunflower seeds? 4. We then began our investigation by collecting data over a 2 month period. At the end of our investigation we created graphs to represent the data that was collected. 5. As a class, we discussed how we could improve our data collection, what we would change if we did this again, and how this data impacts scientists' research. |
This pie chart represents the types of birds we saw in our garden over a 2 month period (January to February 2015)
